
Google rolled out a new Search experience earlier this week that places AI summaries at the top of results and pushes traditional "10 blue links" far down the page.
When users search for the word "disregard," the AI summary generates only empty space, forcing users to scroll past a large blank block to reach the Merriam-Webster dictionary link that would normally appear near the top.
The broken AI response provides no conceivable value to users searching for that term, demonstrating an edge case the company does not appear to have anticipated at scale.
