Amazon rolled out a desktop version of Amazon Quick, its cloud-based AI agent that can perform tasks such as drafting emails, pulling information from user data, scheduling meetings, sending emails, creating dashboards, and sending alerts. Quick is designed to work across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and other ecosystems.
Amazon expanded its AI-powered customer support platform Amazon Connect into four separate agentic AI services: Connect Decisions for supply chain work, Connect Talent for hiring, Connect Customer AI for customer support, and Connect Health for healthcare settings. Quick includes built-in security features that ask for access permissions and confirmation before performing tasks.
The move is part of Amazon's effort to push further into the enterprise software space, competing against Microsoft and Salesforce. The announcement comes as questions about whether AI can perform many enterprise software tasks have caused shares of Salesforce, Thomson Reuters, and ServiceNow to decline in recent months.
