Sony unveils final premium Bravia TVs before TV business merges with TCL in 2027

Sony Group unveiled the Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II, priced from ¥660,000 and ¥363,000 respectively, along with the Bravia Theater Trio surround sound speaker system. All products are available for preorder and will ship in June.

These are likely Sony's last premium television sets before its home entertainment unit merges with TCL Electronics Holdings. TCL agreed earlier this year to pay ¥75.4 billion ($473 million) for a 51% stake in a joint venture that will formally launch in April 2027, making TVs under Sony and Bravia branding while integrating TCL's display technology.

The new Bravia models compete with premium soundbar makers including Sonos and Samsung Electronics.
