TSMC's latest result extends a run that the company says is driven by massive global demand for AI hardware. The July-September quarter was the sixth straight record quarterly net profit for the world's biggest contract maker of microchips, a category that includes the processors used in Nvidia's AI data-centre systems.
The scale of the beat is notable: the NT$763.1 billion profit came in above analyst estimates of NT$739.5 billion, and it cleared the previous quarterly record of NT$706.6 billion set in April-June 2026. Revenue for the quarter also rose 50.9% to NT$1.5 trillion.
Investors, however, did not cheer the update. TSMC shares were down 2.2% ahead of the report and stayed in the red after it, suggesting the market's reaction was muted even as the profit line set a new high.
