What happened
In tests run October 1–6, 2026, Seedance 2.5 landed a single hard cut exactly at the moment of contact and carried that momentum into the hug, in both the couple and pet versions.
Why it matters
The cut and the hug came from one generation run, so no editing software was used to join the two shots.
What to watch
The test ran at 480p, so whether the same result holds at higher resolution is undecided. The same service lists a 20-second 720p output at $9.90.
WHO IT HITSThis matters most for creators and small studios that make short-form video, because a single upload of two photos can now produce the whole five-beat sequence without editing software.

The test set out to see whether two consecutive scenes could be stitched by one generation run, without any editing software cutting the shots together afterward. It compared four models under the same input conditions: Seedance 2.0 Mini, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.5, and Wan. The clips were judged frame by frame against five pass/fail criteria, from whether the character's aim showed conflict to whether the memory hug kept the running momentum.
The results differed sharply across models. Seedance 2.0 Mini finished the snowy-mountain version, but in the grassland version the female character kept aiming the gun, so the charge read as an attack rather than a reunion. Seedance 2.0 moved to the memory scene before contact was reached. Wan showed little facial change and kept the dog looking close to a healthy pet. Seedance 2.5 was the one that reached contact and made the cut land at that instant, carrying into the hug.
What this hinges on is whether the result holds beyond the tested conditions. All runs were fixed at 480p, so it is unclear whether the same cut-at-contact behavior would appear at higher resolution. Seedance 2.5 is the model used by the AI Zombie Trend Generator and the Zombie Match Cut Generator, so the comparison also touches the tools built around it, while zombieaitrend.com uses Wan as its backend. The test leaves open how much weight the framing and aspect ratio carry, since the grassland and snowy-mountain runs diverged even within the same model.
