What happened
Google began rolling out Gemini 4 Argon worldwide, with API pricing at $2 per 1M input tokens and $10 per 1M output tokens, rising to $4 and $20 from Dec 1.
Why it matters
The model tackled tasks spanning multiple steps, cutting a job that normally takes months down to weeks and delivering a 2.3× speedup in one scientific case, suggesting broader enterprise use for complex workflows.
What to watch
A free six-month top-tier Antigravity access program for 10,000 scientists starts with access granted gradually based on qualifications and screening.
WHO IT HITSDevelopers and enterprises building on Google AI Studio and the Gemini API, as well as Google AI Ultra and Pro users, will get access to a model built for multi-step coding, finance, legal and science work.

Google's rollout of Gemini 4 Argon is accompanied by concrete examples from its own teams and partners. In one, the Chrome team used Argon on roughly 40 million lines of Chromium code to separate browser features from core web-page processing, coordinating changes across hundreds of files and completing a job that normally takes months in a few weeks. Google says this work lets users move between tabs and side panels without reloading a page and helps eliminate crash causes.
Beyond software, Google points to scientific and security applications. A quantum chemistry package called xTB saw molecular structure prediction sped up by up to 2.3×. An in-house version of AlphaQubit, a machine learning model for correcting quantum computing errors, was optimized to run in a single hardware kernel, roughly doubling inference throughput. For security firm Wiz, Argon helped find and fix a vulnerability in healthcare infrastructure that could have exposed hundreds of thousands of patient records. In robotics, a video-to-simulation-to-real method had a humanoid robot "Apollo" succeed seven times in a row at a beanbag toss task.
