Vertiv to invest $50 million, add 730 Ohio jobs

Vertiv's roots in Ohio go back more than six decades, and in 2022 the company moved its U.S. corporate headquarters to Westerville, creating a three-building campus meant to improve collaboration. The new investment builds on that footprint rather than starting somewhere new: it expands key business functions at the Westerville campus and adds capacity and upgrades machinery in Ironton.

In its explanation of the choice, Vertiv points to Ohio's skilled workforce in engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing, its own established and experienced workforce there, a technology and data infrastructure ecosystem tied to the AI industry, manufacturing talent in Central and Southeast Ohio, and a collaborative business environment supported by JobsOhio and state and local partners. The stated payoff is high-quality jobs in two communities alongside a stronger position in one of Ohio's fastest-growing technology sectors.

Anand Sanghi, President of Vertiv Americas, framed the move as confidence in the state, its communities and its people, and as investment in talent, manufacturing and long-term capability to serve customers. Whether the full 730 roles materialize by 2029 likely depends on how quickly the Ironton production expansion is staffed and whether demand for AI-related thermal management capacity holds up — a question for the data-center operators that buy those systems as much as for Vertiv.
