Matternet Partners with Beeline UAS for Bay Area, LA Drone Delivery

On July 15, 2026, Matternet announced an operational partnership with Beeline UAS designed to expand its commercial drone delivery network across the United States. Matternet, based in Mountain View and the sole holder of an FAA Type Certificate for a drone delivery aircraft, is adding Beeline as its third FAA Part 135 air carrier partner, alongside Ameriflight and UPS Flight Forward.

The partnership targets the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles as initial expansion zones for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations. Matternet's rationale centers on the efficiency gains autonomous delivery can provide in regions marked by traffic congestion and high labor costs. Beeline will operate Matternet's M2 drone, Matternet Station, and Matternet Software Platform to support delivery-as-a-service agreements across food, retail, and healthcare sectors.

Beeline UAS brings regulatory expertise and operational infrastructure to the partnership. The company operates as a B2B solutions provider that integrates uncrewed aerial systems into the national airspace, holding its own FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate. Rather than building hardware, Beeline provides operational and regulatory frameworks—a model that complements Matternet's platform-first approach. Matternet's multi-operator strategy is designed to deliver the operational capacity, geographic reach, and flexibility needed for rapid growth while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
