Google is developing an AI agent called Remy that can take actions on users' behalf, currently being tested by employees

Google is building a "24/7 personal agent" named Remy that runs in an internal staff-only version of Gemini and can integrate with Google's other services. The agent is described as elevating Gemini "into a true assistant that can take actions on your behalf — not just answer questions or generate content."

Remy can "monitor for things that matter to you, handle complex tasks proactively, and learn your preferences over time," according to an internal description. Employees at the company have been testing the tool internally.

Google does not yet have a widely available, fully autonomous AI agent product, though it has been rolling out "Agent Mode" and other related features with access varying by subscription tier and region. A timeline for public launch of Remy could not be learned, though the document describes it as a "dogfooding" project (a practice where employees test products before public release).
