ctx launches file-based system for AI coding assistants to persist project context across sessions

ctx is a lightweight, file-based infrastructure that enables AI coding assistants (including Claude Code and Cursor) to persist, structure, and rehydrate project context across sessions without vendor lock-in.

The system treats context as deterministic state rather than ephemeral prompt-time retrieval, allowing developers to record tasks, decisions, and learnings that survive session boundaries and prevent AI tools from repeating past mistakes or rediscovering decisions.

ctx is open source under Apache 2.0 license; pre-built binaries and source code are available from the releases page and GitHub repository (github.com/ActiveMemory/ctx), with full documentation at ctx.ist.
