
Brain Corp announced an expanded research collaboration with UC San Diego to advance semantic mapping and contextual intelligence technologies. The work focuses on building a 'contextual grounding layer'—an intelligent digital representation of physical spaces that gives robots situational awareness to understand and respond to their surroundings.
The collaboration leverages Brain Corp's operational data from more than 50,000 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) deployed globally and over 25 million hours of operations across commercial sites. The teams will integrate advances in semantic mapping into Brain Corp's BrainOS autonomy platform to help customers deploy and coordinate AMRs more safely and efficiently.
Brain Corp's chief technology officer, John Black, will speak at the 2026 Robotics Summit & Expo in Boston next week on 'Building Scalable Robot Systems That Learn, Adapt, and Earn Trust.'
