Elon Musk boosts New Yorker article about Sam Altman as lawsuit trial begins

Musk used X's Boost feature to amplify an April 6 post by New Yorker coauthor Ronan Farrow investigating Sam Altman's allegedly deceptive behavior, and reposted the story himself on Monday calling Altman 'Scam' Altman.

The boosted post did not display an 'ad' label in feeds on Monday, though users who accessed the post options menu saw choices including 'report ad'; X's FAQ states that 'boosted posts must also self-identify as an advertisement and comply with X's ad policies.'

Musk's jury trial against OpenAI, Altman, president Greg Brockman, and Microsoft kicked off Monday with jury selection; Musk claims OpenAI strayed from its nonprofit mission to ensure artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity, while OpenAI argues Musk knew it would need to become a large business to achieve its goals.
