Dispatch is a workflow layer inside Claude that connects the Claude mobile app to the Claude Desktop app, letting Claude run tasks on your computer with access to local files, connectors, plugins, and apps. It requires the latest Claude Desktop and Mobile apps, a Max plan priced at $200 a month, an active internet connection on both devices, and a computer that is awake with the Claude app open.

A Dispatch thread retains context across multiple tasks, allowing users to start work on their phone, continue on desktop, and pick up later in the same conversation without resetting. The feature can locate files, summarize emails and calendar events, prepare meeting briefs, pull numbers from spreadsheets, organize files, and generate comparison tables—with results delivered as spreadsheets, memos, or other completed outputs.

Practical use cases include finding specific documents from hundreds of files without manual folder searching, summarizing recent emails before walking into a meeting, and asking Claude to prep for a calendar event by pulling the latest proposal, summarizing email threads, and drafting talking points—all while away from the desk.
