Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend an NBA Finals game, watching Game 3 from New York Knicks owner James Dolan's suite alongside his granddaughter Kai, personal adviser Boris Epshteyn, and Cabinet secretaries Lee Zeldin, Sean Duffy, and Doug Burgum.

When Trump appeared on Madison Square Garden's jumbo screens during the national anthem, fans booed loudly, though jeers ended when the U.S. flag followed him on screen. Trump told reporters afterward: 'It was, I think, mostly cheers. It was loud, and it was very enthusiastic.'

Enhanced security measures required fans to provide tickets or passes at multiple checkpoints and pass through TSA-style magnetometers. The watch party outside the arena was canceled, and ticket-holders were not allowed to bring bags inside the Garden.
