Apple ships iOS 27.2 with Siri AI memory, five new languages

The update arrives as the first major refresh to the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 operating systems since they came out in September, according to MacRumors. Apple's release notes frame the memory feature around continuity: Siri AI can recall past conversations so a user can ask about something it told you before, like restaurants it recommended last week. That same release note also broadens where the assistant looks for answers, listing photos attached in Messages, Calendar event attendees, voicemails, and better results from Safari history and Reading List.

Alongside the memory change, Apple added an Excluded Apps setting that lets users choose which apps Siri, Search, and suggestions can access from one place. The language expansion to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish widens Siri AI's reach, though Apple keeps it out of the EU and mainland China. Those regional exclusions and the staggered language rollout have been recurring themes in Apple's AI story over the past 90 days, based on a tracker of 73 stories.
