Anthropic raises $65 billion at $965 billion valuation, surpassing OpenAI's last valuation of $852 billion

Anthropic closed a Series H funding round led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital. The round includes $15 billion of previously committed investments from hyperscalers, including $5 billion from Amazon.

The post-money valuation of $965 billion represents a significant increase from the company's $380 billion valuation in February. Anthropic's run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion earlier this month.

Amazon committed to spending more than $100 billion over the next 10 years on Amazon's cloud technologies as part of Anthropic's expansion of computing capacity to meet demand for its chatbot Claude.
