Google adds AI assistant to Chrome that can automate workplace tasks like research and data entry for enterprise employees

Google integrated Gemini (its large language model AI) into Chrome with an 'auto browse' feature for business users, enabling the browser to automatically complete routine tasks like gathering information, filling forms, and organizing data without human intervention each time.

Unlike older automation tools that run only pre-recorded clicks, this AI watches what you're trying to do, understands the goal, and can navigate websites and applications on its own to complete multi-step workflows—so instead of manually copying data from five sources into a spreadsheet, the AI does the research and entry automatically.
