Knowerage launches as an MCP server for tracking code coverage through AI-generated analysis documents.

Knowerage is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that creates and maintains markdown analysis files with YAML frontmatter, recording which source code ranges are covered by documentation stored in a knowerage/registry.json file.

The tool exposes MCP operations including knowerage_create_or_update_doc, knowerage_reconcile_all, knowerage_list_stale, and registry_export_report to help track analysis freshness using SHA-256 hashes and detect stale or missing source files.

Requires Node.js 18 or newer; can be configured in MCP host settings (such as .cursor/mcp.json or .vscode/mcp.json) and queried through natural language prompts to an AI assistant to analyze code and report coverage gaps.

Available on npm as @mtimma/knowerage and via GitHub; licensed MIT and written partly with generative AI assistants.
