Sign up free →Google is rolling out Pics, a new AI image generation app powered by Gemini and Google's Nano Banana 2 image model, initially as a standalone web app for 'trusted testers' and later this summer for subscribers to Google's AI Ultra plan.
Instead of rewriting a full prompt to change one aspect of an image, users can click on a specific part and leave a note about what they want to see—similar to leaving a comment in a Google Doc—and Pics will update the image accordingly.
Google plans to eventually integrate Pics directly into other Workspace apps so users can generate and edit images without leaving the application they're working in.
