Google brings multistep agentic AI tasks, web browsing, form-filling, and natural-language widget creation to Android

Google announced AI features for Android at its 'Android Show: I/O Edition' event on Tuesday, including the ability for Gemini to complete multistep tasks across apps (e.g., copying a grocery list from notes, adding items to a shopping cart), browse the web, fill out forms, and transcribe speech with a feature called Rambler in Gboard that removes filler words.

Users can now build Android widgets by describing them in natural language—for example, 'Suggest three high-protein meal prep recipes every week'—using Gemini's generative capabilities.

These features will first roll out to the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices this summer, with availability across other Android devices later this year. Form-filling is opt-in and can be disabled via settings.
