Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI enters second week with testimony from co-founder Greg Brockman

Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of OpenAI, is scheduled to face questioning from Musk's lawyers on Monday in Oakland courthouse. Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO and co-founder, is not expected to testify until the week of May 11. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella may also testify this week.

Musk is seeking to force OpenAI to revert to a non-profit foundation. He testified last week that he contributed $38 million between 2016 and 2020 as an early supporter, saying he wanted to counterbalance Google's dominance and keep transformative AI technology free from profit-driven pressures.

OpenAI is currently valued at over $850 billion and is preparing for an IPO. If Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers rules in favor of Musk, the IPO could be jeopardized, potentially reshaping the global AI landscape where competitors like Google, Anthropic, and Chinese tech firms are competing.
