What happened
Schwab Advisor Services made Claude for Financial Advisors available through Schwab Advisor Center, making it the first RIA custodian to bring Anthropic's advisor-specific AI to independent firms. Ester®, a tax and estate planning tool from Wealth.com, is also now available, and Nevis, an AI-powered operating platform, enters a strategic partnership and receives an investment from Schwab.
Why it matters
Advisors using Schwab's platform now have access to advisor-specific AI and planning tools inside the same system, which may reduce the need to switch between separate applications, with Schwab emphasizing that the advisor-client relationship remains irreplaceable.
WHO IT HITSIndependent registered investment advisors (RIAs) that custody assets with Schwab can now use Anthropic's advisor-specific AI and Wealth.com's Ester planning tool inside Schwab Advisor Center, while Nevis's partnership could affect how those firms coordinate operational work across their technology stacks.

The announcements build on Schwab's nearly 15 years of investment in APIs and integrations that let data, intelligence and workflows move between Schwab and third-party solutions. This open-architecture approach is what Alison Dooher, head of AI for Schwab Advisor Services, pointed to as the foundation required to make AI useful: APIs, integrations, trusted data and knowledge of advisor workflows.
Schwab framed the rollout as offering these tools both inside Schwab Advisor Center and through outside platforms firms already use, letting each firm adopt them at its own pace with education and support from Schwab along the way. The news was announced at Schwab IMPACT®, which the firm describes as the largest and longest running annual event for RIAs and the ecosystem that serves them.
