Amazon Bedrock AgentCore payments now available in preview to enable AI agents to autonomously execute microtransaction payments for paid APIs and content

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore payments is a managed service that helps AI agents execute microtransactions for paid APIs, MCPs (model context protocols), and content with configurable spending guardrails, reducing developer effort from months to days.

The service abstracts protocol complexity by automatically managing multi-step payment flows across agentic payment protocols like x402, and uses AgentCore Identity to store payment credentials in a secure token vault with support for EdDSA, ECDSA, and ES256 cryptographic signing methods.

AgentCore payments provides stablecoin support to make sub-cent transactions economically viable, since traditional payment methods like credit cards include fixed per-transaction fees (for example, USD $0.30) that make high-frequency microtransactions unviable on their own.
