Nvidia co-announced with Vertiv in August that it is making progress on 800-volt power infrastructure for its next-generation Vera Rubin accelerators. Nvidia confirmed its MGX-compatible direct current 800-power rack will be available before the end of 2026.
Why it matters
800-volt direct-current platforms are about 10% less expensive to operate than most current power supplies, and data centers consume power in megawatts. This overlooked part of the AI business could become the industry norm, creating significant revenue potential.
What to watch
