CBTS launches Forge Agents for custom AI agents

CBTS is positioning Forge Agents as a solution for midmarket companies that must meet enterprise-grade governance demands without a large engineering team. The company argues these firms face the same regulatory and security reviews as larger enterprises, but lack the resources to address them. The Forrester report cited in the announcement, which shows governance responsibility split across seven or more roles with no single function owning more than 28%, underscores the scattered accountability CBTS aims to consolidate.

The platform extends Forge AI, the advisory and infrastructure practice CBTS introduced in March. By allowing agents to run on infrastructure clients already pay for, CBTS avoids the need for rip-and-replace deployments. The company has also tested the software internally, with more than 2,300 employees working alongside agents across customer experience, finance, operations, and workforce functions, reporting payback within three months. This internal rollout serves as a reference point for what midmarket buyers might expect, though results may vary by use case.
