South Korean chip designer DEEPX will install its neural processing unit (a specialized processor for AI tasks) in an AI perimeter surveillance system at a South Korean Air Force base. This is the first defense-sector project in South Korea to replace foreign-made GPUs (graphics processors) with a domestic NPU for AI video surveillance.
