Atlassian and Google Cloud deepen partnership to embed autonomous AI agents into team collaboration tools

Atlassian expanded its existing partnership with Google Cloud to integrate agentic AI (AI systems that independently plan and execute multi-step tasks) into its products like Jira and Confluence, which are used by millions of teams worldwide for project tracking and documentation.

The collaboration lets Atlassian customers use Google Cloud's AI models to automate repetitive work tasks — for example, an AI agent could automatically summarize meeting notes, assign tickets to teammates, or flag project risks without human prompting, reducing manual overhead in daily workflows.

Teams relying on Atlassian tools can now access autonomous AI capabilities without switching to separate tools, making it easier for project managers and developers to offload routine administrative work and focus on higher-level strategy or coding.

The integration is available now through Atlassian's product line; teams using Google Cloud infrastructure can enable these AI features within their existing Jira and Confluence instances.
