Salesforce cuts employees across Agentforce, Mulesoft, and Marketing Cloud in new round of layoffs

A regulatory filing in California listed 86 Salesforce job cuts affecting roles in sales, general administration, technology and product, with affected employees remaining on payroll until Aug. 7. Additional cuts in Washington state and outside the U.S. were also confirmed.

The cuts targeted employees working on Agentforce (an AI agent product), Mulesoft (an IT integration tool), and Marketing Cloud software. In November, Business Insider reported that Agentforce adoption was relatively low despite the company's promotional demos.

Salesforce stock is down more than 30% this year amid concerns that AI models and agents could displace traditional software offerings, including the company's core customer relationship-management product. Last month, Salesforce reported Agentforce annualized revenue had passed $1 billion.

This follows an earlier round of layoffs in January when the company eliminated fewer than 1,000 roles. Salesforce had more than 80,000 employees at the end of January.
