What happened
Fujitsu will offer a trial environment from October 6, 2026 for four retail AI agents — sales structure analysis, customer loyalty analysis, MD planning, and store manager support — with commercial launch set for June 2027.
Why it matters
The agents aim to shorten the cycle from identifying issues to deciding measures and verifying results, which retail buyers, merchandisers and store managers currently handle through manual analysis and document work.
What to watch
Fujitsu will exhibit the AI agents at the 22nd Asia-Pacific Retailers Convention, running October 7–10, 2026 at Tokyo International Forum, with the RETAIL EXPO Tokyo 2026 show on October 8–9.
WHO IT HITSRetail merchandisers, marketers, area managers and store managers at retail companies stand to gain faster, data-backed planning and analysis. Fujitsu also plans to use its Fujitsu Kozuchi AI platform and a multi-AI-agent framework to add more agents over time, which may widen the set of retail workflows these tools touch.

Fujitsu is rolling this out under "Uvance for Retail," its business model for the distribution and retail sector. The company frames the need around domestic retailers that collect sales and customer data but struggle to turn it into strategy: advanced analysis and KPI setting demand specialist skills, while aggregation and document preparation consume time that should go to planning and customer service.
The announcement follows a run of related Fujitsu retail moves. Earlier efforts cited include support for Aeon Food Style's strategic store operations through a store-manager collaboration AI agent, a core system renewal project with Tomoshia Holdings, and a food distribution solution covering more than 1,500 functions. The agents connect to those efforts through a shared AI execution platform that handles data storage, processing and access management for Uvance for Retail.
Looking ahead, Fujitsu says it intends to expand the agent lineup using its Fujitsu Kozuchi AI platform and a multi-agent development framework, and to aim beyond retail toward supply chain optimization across manufacturers, wholesalers and logistics.
