Thermo Fisher Scientific introduces three new Orbitrap mass spectrometry platforms and AI-enabled software for research, drug development, and safety testing.

Thermo Fisher Scientific unveiled three new Orbitrap mass spectrometry platforms—Orbitrap Tribrid Apex MS, Orbitrap Excedion MS, and Orbitrap Exploris GC S MS—along with AI-driven software acquired from MSAID and Proteinaceous at the American Society for Mass Spectrometry Conference.

The Orbitrap Excedion MS features enhanced dynamic range technology that can detect three to five times more compounds in complex samples compared to previous versions. The TSQ Certis Triple Quadrupole MS measures samples 15% faster and operates more than twice as long between maintenance events when analyzing complex matrices like plasma.

New software includes Proteoform Studio for proteomics workflows, Proteome Discoverer 3.4 for managing multiple workflows, and BioPharma Finder 5.5 for processing complex mass spectrometry data, designed to help laboratories in research, biopharmaceutical development, and environmental safety manage larger data sets and complex samples.
