What happened
Anthropic's November 5, 2026 update adds a beta Security Center that reviews chat, Cowork, and Claude Code settings on one page and exports an audit report.
Why it matters
Admins get a single gap analysis against Anthropic's recommended configuration, while generally available prompt and pre-tool-call hooks let existing DLP tools inspect prompts and tool calls as people work.
WHO IT HITSEnterprise security and IT admins running Claude across chat, Cowork, and Claude Code gain a checklist-style audit view and hook points for their existing DLP and security tooling, while EDR teams can deploy sensors inside Cowork on managed devices in detection-only mode.

Anthropic's November 5, 2026 post frames the Security Center as a consolidation play: instead of admins checking settings one by one, chat, Cowork, and Claude Code are reviewed together on a single page, with results exportable as an audit report. Organizations on the Compliance API can pull the same findings through that interface, which matters for teams that already route compliance data through existing tooling.
The inference hooks move in the same direction. Prompt hooks send outgoing prompts to a customer's existing security tool, and pre-tool-call hooks intercept tool calls before they run. In the post's words, DLP and security policies can apply to prompts and tool calls as people work without the team rewriting them. A separate console at admin.claude.com manages parent-organization concerns across Claude Enterprise and Claude Platform orgs, covering single sign-on, SCIM directory sync, domain verification, and Compliance API keys.
The release lands a day after a Claude Code bug report alleged that user emails were leaking through a User-Agent header — one of 368 Anthropic stories on the tracker over the last 90 days. Alongside this, EDR integration inside Cowork is in beta on macOS and Windows: admins can run their organization's sensor inside the Cowork virtual machine on user devices, with Claude verifying the sensor package's signature from the EDR vendor before installing it. The stated limit is that sensors run in detection mode only, reporting activity rather than blocking it. Claude Desktop can also be locked down on managed computers to block personal and other outside Claude accounts, aimed at shadow IT.
