Honeywell Technologies introduced Forge Cognition, a self-contained agentic AI and simulation platform for buildings, campuses and industrial operations, developed with Nvidia and Dell Technologies.
Why it matters
A pilot at Nvidia's Voyager campus showed alerts cut by as much as 90% and potential energy savings of up to 10%, suggesting the platform could reduce operating waste for building operators.
WHO IT HITSFacility and building operations managers running HVAC, energy and equipment systems are the first audience, since the platform targets alarm management, asset health and energy intelligence. IT teams at those sites may also be drawn in through its IT-OT convergence architecture and reliance on Dell AI Factory and Nvidia infrastructure.

Honeywell Technologies CEO Vimal Kapur had already flagged the direction: on the company's second-quarter earnings call in July, he pointed to plans to push building and process automation products into high-growth verticals such as data centers, healthcare and hospitality, and noted that the AI-assisted Forge cloud platform was becoming more important to growth even though it remained a small part of the business. Forge Cognition extends that platform with AI capabilities rather than replacing it, and Honeywell says the system connects to existing deployments.
The technical stack leans on partners rather than in-house work alone. Honeywell says the system uses Nvidia's open models to power agents that interpret data, simulate operational changes and summarize sensor data, with Dell AI Factory with Nvidia underpinning the infrastructure, including Dell's PowerEdge XE servers, AI data platform and storage engines and cyber resiliency solutions. Honeywell describes the architecture as open and interoperable, converging IT and operational environments.
The pilot locations span a university, a hotel, a mall, Honeywell's own campuses in Bangalore and Richardson, Texas, and Nvidia's Voyager campus in Santa Clara, California — a spread that touches several of the verticals Kapur named, though Honeywell has not said when the platform moves beyond pilots. Honeywell's third-quarter earnings report, due Oct. 22, will be its second since spinning off its aerospace division earlier this year to concentrate on building, process and industrial automation.
