Boeing and Northrop Grumman boost P-8 and Triton drone link with AI

Boeing and Northrop Grumman, two of the largest U.S. defense contractors, have collaborated to strengthen the operational integration of two key naval platforms. The P-8 Poseidon, a manned aircraft, and the MQ-4C Triton, an unmanned aerial vehicle, serve complementary roles in maritime operations—detection, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The use of artificial intelligence as the enabling tool for their enhanced interoperability suggests that the companies have applied machine learning or autonomous decision-making systems to improve data sharing, mission coordination, or real-time response between crewed and uncrewed assets.
