Bechtel Corporation and Cyberhawk expand AI drone construction monitoring

The expanded collaboration between Bechtel Corporation and Cyberhawk builds on a relationship established in 2018, when the two companies, along with Shell, launched one of the first large-scale deployments of weekly drone-based construction monitoring. This earlier work paired aerial data with the Cyberhawk iHawk platform to enable data-driven project execution.

The current expansion formalizes the entire toolchain, from capturing raw aerial data to processing it and using it for project decisions. The focus on near real-time site intelligence is framed as a requirement for scaling AI, robotics, and autonomous systems in construction environments.

The presentation at EPC Expo 2026 outlined practical approaches now in the field. The success of this initiative likely hinges on whether the cycle of field deployment, rapid iteration, and scaling proven solutions can deliver consistent value across more job sites.
